As the Technical Manager based in Atchison, Kansas, you will be responsible for the effective operations of the technical department by ensuring overall objectives are consistent with product and customer requirements. You will be overseeing product development and providing technical documentation pertaining to production and inspection procedures.
You will continually maintain, drive, supervise and implement robust technical standards, systems and processes. You will influence technology strategies and decisions with a high-level of expertise and knowledge. As well as provide direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislative specifications and standards. You will ensure capital budgets are kept within the agreed limits and accurate calculation of capital projects to provide optimum resources to maintain production schedules.
You will lead a team of staff developing products, and address training needs when necessary through precise recording and monitoring of site KPIs. You will coordinate the regular testing of products to address faults, and provide evaluations in order to improve them. You will act as a key contact with customers who have technical issues and communicate with operations to ensure correct and timely delivery of required productions to meet DOT.

Key Criteria:
- Bachelors Degree in engineering - BE (Mechanical), BE (Materials), Metallurgy, Manufacturing or equivalent
- 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory/management in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of foundry processes (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in creating and managing budgets/reports
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and capital project work
- Experience in working with technical documents, specifications, and standards
- Knowledge of metallurgy, welding, and manufacturing principles
