Position: Construction Building Inspector
We are currently looking to fill a full-time position to support our long term construction projects in the Bryan College Station area. You will be performing
- Inspection Services for Developer Projects, responsibilities to include:
- Inspect the work of the construction contractor for progress, workmanship, and conformance with the approved contract documents and applicable codes and regulations.
- Coordinate and track all required special inspections and material testing. Review special inspection and material testing reports to verify conformance with the approved project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- When work is found to be in non-conformance, document the deficiencies and promptly provide notification of the deficiencies to the A&M System member and the GC
- Verify that deficiencies have been corrected and/or approved by applicable party.
- Issue inspection deficiency list to the contractor. Conduct inspections and draft related deficiency letters for A&M System’s review and subsequent concurrence and signature.
- Coordinate all owner third party testing to verify conformance with the approved project drawings and specifications.
- At a minimum, candidates must possess, or be able to obtain within 6 months of this assignment, an ICC certification in one or more of the following, depending on the position they will be proposed for:
o ICC B2 Commercial Building Inspector
o ICC E2 Commercial Electrical Inspector
o ICC M2 Commercial Mechanical Inspector
o ICC P2 Commercial Plumbing Inspector
Requirements:
Degree in Bachelor of Science in Construction Science or Construction Management or Architecture or MEP Engineering. Must also have the following experience.
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Conducting field audits
- Observing construction subcontractors on site
- Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam and ability to read blueprints
- Mid-to-large capital construction projects
Advanced PC skills, specifically Microsoft Windows Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint). Experience working on mid to large capital projects ($100 mil and up) is a plus.
8 to 10 years of work experience.
Start: 2 months
Location: Supporting various sites in Texas with core construction site at Bryan / College Station.
Base Salary: based on experience; range is from $51,500 to $71,500/year
