Position Overview

The main objective of the Lead Service Technician is to proactively maintain equipment, perform repairs, oversee onsite installations, support ware wash, and perform tasks while representing North Woods (a subsidiary of BradyPLUS) in a professional and safe manner. This role involves coordinating and scheduling Service Center calls, assist Sales with customer needs, periodically help in the warehouse, promotes North Woods services to meet customer needs, and executing all service center requirements. The role requires regular local travel at 50% or higher.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Adjust schedule to workflow.
  • Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systems.
  • Follow all company procedures and protocols.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner.
  • Wear appropriate and approved clothing and safety equipment.
  • Coordinate and prioritize needs and tasks as they change.
  • Meet industry performance and quality standards.
  • Cross-departmental engagement with internal support teams to promote. customer service, good teamwork, and help meet company goals.
  • Communicate with Customer Service regarding pricing, concerns, orders, and requests.
  • Schedule installations, repairs, and pickups in tandem with Sales and Customer Service.
  • Keep the Service Center area neat and orderly.
  • Process customer orders and initiate corresponding processes.
  • Assist customers with product knowledge of all equipment sold.
  • Promptly and accurately follow procedures and fill out paperwork for all orders.
  • Research and resolve customer problems accurately and efficiently.
  • Administer Planned Maintenance Programs.
  • Process warranties and Return Pickups.
  • Assign tasks to Customer Service as appropriate and ensure follow up.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience: 3 years preferred.
  • Education: Minimum High School Diploma.
  • Licenses: Driver's License in good standing.
  • Some knowledge of mechanical ability.
  • Ability to read instructions and diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office.
  • Positive, energetic, and motivated.
  • Ability to foster and maintain professional relationships.
  • Able to manage stress or busy periods.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.

Physical Demands:

  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required (some industrial machine assistance available).
  • Steady moderate to high activity and movement throughout the day.
  • Able to travel locally approximately 50% of the time.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate to heavy noise (i.e., traffic, trucks, forklifts, etc.).
  • Fluctuating temperatures due to change of work locations (indoors and outdoors).
