Structural Design Technician

Branch Engineering, Inc. has an immediate opening for a hard-working and detail-oriented Structural Design Technician. This position is full-time and would work from our Springfield office. This position will work closely with our Structural Engineering Department to complete engineering projects across the Willamette Valley.  We are looking for a technician with a limited amount of experience and the drive to continue their professional and personal development in the field of structural engineering.

COMPENSATION: $25-$40 per hour;  compensation will be commensurate with experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-         Discuss project scope with team managers.

-         Prepare design documents and create or collaborate the creation of construction drawings.

-         Perform structural calculations for permitting and client review.

-         Perform field investigations of existing conditions.

-         Communicate and coordinate with various project teams and disciplines, and collaborate and refine designs during the creation of project design drawings and structural calculations documents.

-         Exhibit professional communication skills over various communication platforms.

-         Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control in personal work.

-         Make periodic site visits to observe construction activities.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

-         Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, and other industry-related software (not required).

-         Experience with Risa Technologies design suite, MathCAD, Excel, concrete anchor design software, and other industry-related design software (not required).

-         At least two years of experience in a structural engineering field preferred (not required).

-         Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and PDF editing software (Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu) (not required).

-         Analytical and detail-oriented.

-         Current driver’s license.

-         Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is a plus (not required).
