We are presently seeking a highly qualified Federal Audiovisual Designer to join our dynamic team, with a specialized focus on designing AV systems for federal and government projects.


As a Federal Audiovisual Designer at BranchPattern, you will play a crucial role in designing and specifying audiovisual systems tailored for federal and government projects. You will work closely with clients, architects, and engineers to develop customized AV solutions that comply with government regulations, security requirements, and industry standards. Your expertise in audiovisual technology and your familiarity with the intricacies of federal projects will be pivotal in delivering high-quality, compliant, and innovative AV designs.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Federal Project Expertise: Possess an in-depth understanding of the unique requirements, regulations, and standards associated with federal and government projects, including security clearance processes and compliance with the Buy American Act.
  2. Project Analysis: Collaborate with federal clients and project stakeholders to comprehend their audiovisual requirements, objectives, and constraints. Conduct thorough site surveys and assessments of existing AV infrastructure as needed.
  3. AV System Design: Create comprehensive audiovisual system designs tailored to the specific needs of federal projects. Ensure that AV systems align with government guidelines and security protocols.
  4. Technical Documentation: Produce detailed AV system schematics, equipment lists, wiring diagrams, and other essential project documentation. Prepare accurate scope of work, design reports, and technical specifications for federal projects.
  5. Vendor and Equipment Selection: Evaluate and select AV equipment and technology solutions that meet stringent federal procurement guidelines. Develop equipment budgets and procurement plans in accordance with government regulations.
  6. Compliance: Ensure that all AV system designs and installations comply with federal regulations, security standards, and accessibility requirements.
  7. Collaboration: Differentiate with responsiveness. Work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to seamlessly integrate AV systems within federal project designs.
  8. Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control checks during the design phase and installation process to guarantee that AV systems meet design specifications and federal client expectations.
  9. Security: Uphold the highest levels of data and system security in line with government standards and cybersecurity best practices.
  10. Client Relations: Maintain strong client relationships by providing superior customer service, addressing federal client concerns, and ensuring project objectives are met or exceeded.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in audiovisual system design.
  • Proficiency in audiovisual design software and tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT, D-Tools, or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations, standards, and security requirements related to audiovisual technology.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adept problem-solving abilities and an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional results in the federal and government sector.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in audiovisual system design for Federal and Government projects.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple federal projects concurrently.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CTS-D, CTS-I) are highly desirable.
