We are currently seeking a Project Controls Analyst within our team of experienced professionals. The right candidate will be responsible for undertaking managing and reporting responsibility of metro commercial and infrastructure projects and branches. This Position will require participation in all phases of the project life cycle including Proposal Development Stage, Front End Development, execution and project close out. The candidate will be responsible for making independent evaluations on overall projects operational and financial health based on interpretation of KPI reports using both own experience and that of assigned project team.
Responsibilities
As our Project Controls Analyst your responsibilities will include:
Partner with Regional Project Control Manager to drive a strong project controls culture across the Regions and Branches. Drive disciplined process & structure around project planning, scheduling, cost and change order management.
Drive a “proactive” focus to the underperforming/slipping branches and projects through Project controls tools and enhanced communications.
Drive margin expansion across all initiatives for services and rental businesses through best practice standardization & productivity.
Institute a clear set of leading & lagging KPIs for Project Controls across the branches and projects. Develop and drive a scorecard to monitor performance and weekly reporting.
Actively support critical branches with their projects that meet operational and financial thresholds by identifying on going and future high $/Risky needle mover jobs and apply PC practices to track overall project health.
Institute performance improvement plans “PIP” to low performance branches and develop daily/weekly/monthly operational rhythm to ensure no break in process.
Improve communications through monthly operational rhythm with the branches
Introduce digital/Smart tools to optimize and streamline job scheduling, timesheet tracking, KPI collections and other digital solution by eliminating manual entries and redundant work.
Support digital system migrations especially with job cost reporting and visibility to the overall assigned projects and branches.
Actively support cost out initiatives led by the Project Control Managers and leadership organization by ensure compliance and standardization.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
4-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or another technical field from an accredited university preferred.Up to 5 years of relevant industry experience (construction services, manufacturing, petrochemical, refinery, power)
Strong managerial & communication skills
Strong analytical skills & proficiency in Excel
Ability to work in a cross-matrix organization and with the field teams
Engineering Degree or equivalent desired
Ability to create excellent working relationships with senior management
Ability to effectively work within a matrix organization
Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and confidence
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills
Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Travel as needed to support the need of the Areas
