- Oversee the daily operation of the hotel’s restaurant.
- Communicate daily shift details with Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef.
- Work alongside the kitchen and lounge to ensure successful flow of meal service, filling in where needed.
- Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members.
- Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state and local laws and safety regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist Restaurant Manager with regular staff meetings to build rapport and ensures colleagues are well informed.
- Clearly projects the visions of the department and measures progress.
- Ensure that the department is accurately recording transactions and payments in the Point of Sale system, confirming servers close out summary and declared tips.
- Remain alert of complaints and/or unsatisfied guests and responds appropriately to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Reviews scheduling and labor needs with Restaurant Manager to meet the guests needs as well as maximize efficiency.
- Work with the Restaurant Manager to ensure appropriate inventories are stocked.
- Become familiar with computer systems and technology currently in use in the various food and beverage areas, from both a hardware and software perspective.
- May work until closing to assist the servers with late night rushes, cleaning, and closing duties to ensure a prompt and proper closing down of the restaurant.
- Maintain a mandatory restaurant cleaning schedule with the restaurant team.
- Previous restaurant experience preferred. Two year of previous supervisory experience also preferred.
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to perform under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language, proficiently. Ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment can be extremely helpful in facilitating good communication among all hotel team members and guests.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and desire to participate as part of a team.
- Able to lead and be a role model for all team members.
- Able to work in fast paced environment.
- Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to walk or stand for a majority of shift.
- Able to easily and quickly lift and carry heavy trays.
