About the Role

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 40,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven must grow their shared-value partnerships with universities, employers, and philanthropists.  In that effort, Braven is hiring an External Affairs Operations Coordinator who will provide constituent management support for the 10-person External Affairs Team of Directors as well as streamline cross-functional External Affairs operations. This person will help drive the quality of our external affairs operational systems and data tracking so that we can maximize our daily operations as an External Affairs team. 

  

What You’ll Do


Support External Affairs Directors and Chief External Affairs Officer (70%)

Assist External Affairs Directors with scheduling and data entry so that they can spend their time in the field, with key stakeholders, developing strategy, and with their team and not on logistics.

  • Provide scheduling support for external and cross-functional meetings including making appointments and prioritizing the most sensitive matters, meeting coordination and logistics, conference calls, calendar management, and travel arrangements. 
  • Enter and update stakeholder data into Salesforce and Asana.
  • Ensure timely processing of reimbursements and expense reports for Chief External Affairs Officer and other EA Directors.
  • Support logistics for External Affairs team stepbacks and conferences
  • Provide administrative email writing support in select streams of external affairs work


Cross-Functional External Affairs Campaign Operations (30%):

  • Support cross-functional campaigns with operations (e.g. holiday mailings to supporters, impact and jobs report printing and releases, Braven Summit support) 
    • Collaborate with the senior accountant and create Salesforce opportunities for all donations received.
    • Manage workflow to ensure timely gift acknowledgments from regional Executive Directors and the CEO.   
    • Manage Classy donation records, ensuring they’re entered into the workflow.  
  • Execute and/or assist with ad hoc projects and tasks.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), G-Suite (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Forms, Google Sheets and Gmail)
  • Preferred proficiency in Salesforce, Zoom, Asana, and booking online travel
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in-person and go between the X offices
  • Travel for org-wide and team-wide meetings
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Must be fully vaccinated and have received the Booster vaccination against COVID-19 and provide proof of such by the date of hire. Individuals may claim exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons. Exempted individuals will be subject to weekly testing if they engage in any in-person work activities.   


Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be between $40,500 - $50,600 for Atlanta, $42,600 - $53,200 for Chicago, and $46,000 - $57,500 for New York and Newark. Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. You will have an opportunity to discuss salary in more detail after you begin the application process. In addition, this is a non-exempt, full-time, benefits eligible role. 



Braven also provides competitive, comprehensive benefits, recognition, and career development. While Braven reserves the right to change benefits at any time, current benefits include: 

  • Unlimited vacation time in addition to org-wide, week-long shutdowns in July and the end of the calendar year and all federal holidays
  • Match of your 401K contribution up to 5% of your base annual salary, starting your first full month
  • Coverage of 85% of health insurance premium 
  • A one month paid sabbatical after 4 years on staff


Location

When social distancing is not in place, we gather in the office three days a week. Therefore, we require teammates to live within commuting distance of one of our hubs: Chicago, New York City, Newark, or Atlanta. Each teammate can use two flex days per week of their choosing to work remotely. We believe in the magic, connection, and collaboration that happens when people work together face-to-face and we believe in giving people flexibility to focus, balance personal priorities, and save themselves two commutes per week.
