What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Planner position at Bray Intl Brand?
The Distribution Planner is responsible for planning, coordination, and creation of stocking orders for the North America DBAs as well as to analyze the forecast provided by sales and historical sales data to regulate safety stocks.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Plan and manage material requirements for the North America DBAs using ERP/MRP system. Schedule warehouse transfers and recommend expedites in order to meet delivery requirements. Process orders through the ERP/MRP system. Work on a team with other internal groups, inside sales groups, buyer/planners, and assembly. Ensure a consistent, effective line of communication with the production and sales departments within the North American network. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with all departments to provide seamless quality customer service and on-time performance. Use time-management and multi-tasking skills to handle a variety of requests and functions demanded by the job. Other duties as required by management.
Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Experience utilizing MRP, SFC, and MPS systems required.
- Experience with expediting components, capacity planning and slow-moving inventory is highly preferred.
- Professionalism in working with other departments with the ability to expedite requests/orders through the appropriate processes and channels.
- Must be organized, detail oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and have the ability to prioritize and execute the plan to meet deadlines.
- Computer skills – specifically detailed knowledge of Excel and Power BI. Proficiency in creating analytical tools is a plus.
- This person needs to be a self-starter, proactive and a flexible team player.
- Must be able to react quickly to urgent issues with the company’s overall best interest in mind
- LEAN/Six Sigma certification or APICS is a plus
