Position Summary
The Technical Supply Chain Director is accountable for building and overseeing the technical supply chain management function for the procurement and purchase of aircraft- and engine-related materials, parts, components, tooling and equipment, In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity systems, Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE), and related MRO services.
This position will lead and direct all facets of the Technical Supply Chain including, but not limited to, material planning, purchasing, inventory management, material forecasting, component repair and warranty, engine and airframe repair services, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier management. In addition, this position develops and supports policies and processes to improve the Technical Supply Chain financial and operational efficiencies and service delivery to internal customers, strives to reduce total cost of ownership while meeting key business objectives, and maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement.
Essential Functions
- Proactively lead the strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and management, inventory planning, and purchasing of all aircraft and engine related materials, tools and equipment, and MRO services required to support the Aircraft Entry into Service, Retrofit programs, Maintenance, and Operations
- Develop and implement sourcing and contracting strategies to obtain optimal value and alignment with company goals, policies, and financial expectations
- Oversee the technical procurement functions for Technical Operations and lead negotiation efforts on major procurement agreements
- Establish strategic supplier management of critical suppliers and mange relationships and partnerships with other key suppliers
- Design, implement, administer, and monitor procurement policies, programs, processes, work instructions, and controls to effectively support the Technical Operations business units, and ensure company Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, accuracy, and reliability of corporate financial reporting
- Develop forecasting and material planning capability within the department to deliver a high service level of parts availability to meet aircraft maintenance demand in the most cost-efficient manner
- Create and manage short-, mid-, and long-term goals and objectives related to inventory placement, aircraft component sparing levels, and other corporate sourcing and procurement initiatives
- Manage the inventory and establish controls to ensure the highest level of performance based on key performance metrics and minimizing supply chain risks
- Proactively monitor market intelligence trends and adapt strategy to mitigate risks
- Coordinate purchasing activities with other departments, such as finance, material operations, maintenance, maintenance operations control, quality, and engineering to maintain inventories at the optimal levels
- Responsible for responding to all internal and external audits of the procurement functions
- Implement Technical Supply Chain KPIs aligned with top level performance objectives of Breeze
- Develop a team responsible for sourcing, contracting, purchasing, repairs, warranty, and internal procurement support activities
- Develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies of team members
- Identify opportunities of improvement using various monitoring tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma and Lean Initiatives, with the Supply Chain group as well as internal and external interfaces
- Develop benchmarks and scorecards for continuous improvement
- Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence
Minimum Qualifications
- 4-year degree in a Business, Aviation, Finance, or Engineering
- 5 years' experience in a Purchasing or Supply Chain role with 3 years leading teams in a matrix organization
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
- Experienced in contract negotiations, review, and analysis
- Working knowledge of finance and accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, and risk management
- Strong negotiation skills
- General understanding of FAA regulations including FAR Part 121 operations
- Must have strong analytical skills, as well as a good understanding in spreadsheet modeling
- Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
