Summary of Basic Function:
The Business Applications Analyst II is responsible for supporting and managing business applications and related operational activities of assigned systems. This role applies expert knowledge of applications and technology to ensure the company is achieving maximum value, while applying standards and controls to ensure outstanding quality and performance. This role collaborates with business partners, the technology team, and third parties on initiatives to design, implement, and maintain solutions that optimize end-to-end business processes in support of the company’s strategic objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages daily operations and ensures applications are performing as expected. Proactively identifies issues or risks and takes action to document, track, mitigate and resolve.
- Manages application-related incidents and enhancement requests. Analyzes and documents requirements, recommends solutions, and initiatives corrective action for business processes and enterprise systems. Logs appropriate information and effectively communicates status updates and resolution to stakeholders.
- Develops and maintains strong understanding of applications environment, interdependencies, and integrations.
- Acts as ‘champion’ of assigned applications and engages stakeholders to recommend ways which we can best leverage system capabilities. Answers inquiries, shares opportunities, ideas for improvements, and new features.
- Functions as a technical lead, team member, or project manager on projects, contributing expertise and executing assigned deliverables.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, technology team, and third-party vendors to gather and document business requirements and design optimal solutions to deliver intended business outcomes.
- Leads and/or participates in system evaluation and selection processes, inclusive of stakeholder discovery, development of RFP, coordination with vendors, and preparation of recommendation.
- Develops and executes business and technical requirements and test plans. Maintains checklists or regression testing plans for critical applications to ensure highest level of quality.
- Manages and performs application system upgrades and releases.
- Ensures changes are appropriately documented, approved, and communicated, adhering to company change control policies and procedures.
- Develops and maintains processes, procedures, training manuals, and other documents as needed to enable successful operations and management of applications.
- Contributes to defining and continuous advancement of departmental standards and governance.
- Promotes and participates in continuous learning by seeking out educational and informational opportunities and resources. Develops knowledge of industry and complementary products.
- Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and banking regulations.
- Provides 24x7 support of applications critical to business operations.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding and hands on experience with systems configuration, customization, and integration.
- Ability to analyze business needs and translate into end-to-end process flow, design, and implementation.
- Utilizes data for creation and delivery of reports and dashboards.
- Service-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Takes initiative in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills including attention to detail and multitasking.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in information systems, business management, computer science or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
- Seven (7) years of experience supporting and maintaining enterprise applications and business analysis.
- Prior experience working within the banking industry and knowledge of financial/business systems.
- Experience supporting and maintaining some or all of the following types of systems: core banking, CRM, business process management, document management, deposit and loan origination.

- Position is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and incumbent will need to live within a commutable distance.
