Accountant

Bria Hammel Interiors (BHI) along with Brooke and Lou (B&L) is seeking an Accountant to join our team. Under the direction of our Director of Finance, this position is responsible for all accounts receivable and payable processes and various month-end close processes for both companies.

This position is 4 days a week position (80% full-time equivalent) working Monday-Thursday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE – 60% of Role

• Process all vendor invoices and credit card statement charges ensuring proper allocation and classification of expenses for both companies
• Work efficiently and accurately to process a high volume of transactions with a strong attention to detail
• Maintain organized AP files and email inboxes
• Maintain vendor information in systems
• Assist with annual 1099 process

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE – 20% of Role

• Prepare monthly design time billings and send to clients
• Process payments received from clients
• Ensure timely collection of open AR
• Prepare monthly product billings

MONTH-END CLOSE – 20% of Role

• Prepare monthly journal entries
• File sales and use taxes with various states
• Assist with other accounting duties as assigned including, but not limited to reporting preparation and ad hoc analysis

GENERAL–

• Email weekly status updates to Director of Finance

Qualifications

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred)

• Three years of experience in an accounting team. Experience in project accounting and/or retail preferred.
• Strong fundamental accounting skills are required.
•  NetSuite or another ERP system experience (preferred)
• Flexible and open to change as our business grows, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail
• Enjoys problem solving and researching issues
• Advanced Beginner to Intermediate Excel skillset required. High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word
