Summary of Position
Responsible for managing, coordinating, and making critical decisions regarding the first- and third-party claims process. Role includes investigating coverage, liability, and bodily injury exposures.
Need to be familiar with insurance terminology, auto coverage, and have the ability to work closely with our carrier partners. Must possess strong written and verbal skills. Will require strong organizational and time management skills. Will be responsible for directing the claims and repair process as well as negotiate and settle bodily injury claims in a fair and friendly way. Will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of claim professionals to create a solid foundation for a claims organization to grow and provide outstanding claim service for our carrier partners.
Essential Job Requirements
- Provides exemplary customer service
- Take training in current claims processes, strategies and systems.
- Take part in training program; including investigation of coverage and liability
- Communicate with insureds, claimants and third party insurance carriers.
- Ability to explain claims process to insureds and claimant.
- Ability to read and understand estimate of repairs.
- Assess related and unrelated (prior) auto damage and set clear expectations on timeline for repairs and outcome.
- Perform the sale of salvage items, including personal property, vehicle and miscellaneous items.
- Negotiate and reach a fair settlement of assigned cases.
- Process payment of assigned claims within authorized limit.
- Document claim related information and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws
Required Skills
- 3 years of auto insurance claims experience
- At least 1 year of nonstandard auto experience
- Texas Insurance adjuster license required
- Bilingual in Spanish/English desired
- Understand auto coverage, liability and bodily injury claims
- High school graduate, college level courses with an emphasis on business studies helpful
