ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gathers and interprets technical data and confers with management or technical staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Monitors and analyzes manufacturing processes to determine where quality problems are, their priority, and identifies the basic cause and communicates with responsible production associate.
- Manages internal and external product holds including any data gathering and coordination of product testing.
- Coordinates regular finished product testing with Test site locally and with Japan.
- Develops effective countermeasures to problems. Initiates action plan, and measures results.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities.
- Recommends and initiates modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Directs workers engaged in testing and inspecting product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Back-up for laboratory technician and control Lab Assistant.
- Conducts audits to ensure compliance with all approved manufacturing and process standards.
- Assists with physical inventory of raw materials and finished products.
- Supervises temporary workers when needed.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Create and revise SOP, compile and writes training material, conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
- Responsible for meeting production targets in the inspection area.
- Advance ISO9001 activity.
- Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university; or one to three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, specific gravities, correlations, slope, standard deviation, and mean.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
