Job Description

Central Penn Business Journal, Central PA’s authority in B2B publications, is seeking a creative and informative Business and Government Reporter to join our team.

What skills does the job require?

• A degree in journalism, communications, or other relevant discipline
• At least three years of experience covering business or economic issues, preferably in Central Penn
• The ability to work comfortably and cooperatively in a team environment
• Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills and a hunger for breaking news online
• The capacity to learn new subjects and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
• The ability to travel easily and efficiently around the region
• Multimedia skills and a love for storytelling
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have home internet connection with minimum of 50mbps up/10mbps down

What will you be Responsible for?

• Daily, weekly stories covering:
  • State government policies and actions relevant to the Central Penn business community
  • Economic development activity
  • Developments in the Health Care industry
  • Other subjects and industries such as Finance, Construction, Real Estate and Manufacturing, as necessary
• Contribute to all Central Penn features, including Power Lists, special reports and supplements as well as contribute to Lehigh Valley Business, Central Penn’s sister publication. And he or she will work collaboratively with other Central Penn editorial staff members, sharing knowledge and expertise when called upon.
• Represent Central Penn at industry and governmental conferences, make media appearances and serve on panels focused on topics relevant to his or her coverage areas.
• Provide multimedia content for CPBJ.com, including but not limited to podcasts, video interviews and other audio/visual formats
