Job Summary: As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting our Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the facility's physical environment in top condition. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can effectively perform routine maintenance tasks, respond to repair requests, and ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for our residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in conducting routine inspections and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.
Perform general maintenance tasks, such as painting, carpentry, and minor repairs.
Respond promptly to work orders and repair requests from staff and residents.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to established safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and in good working order.
Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and supervisors regarding maintenance-related matters.
Complete any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Facility Administrator.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare setting is prefered but we will train the right person
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Must pass a background check
