What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Admission Nurse position at Bridgeview Post Acute?
Primary purpose of your job position is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility, and may be required by the director of nursing services or Nurse Supervisor to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.

Working conditions:
Works in office area(s) as well as throughout the nursing service area (i.e., drug room, nurses’ stations, residents’ rooms, etc.)
Is subject to frequent interruptions,
Is involved with residents, personal, visitors, government agencies/personal, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
Is subjected to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personal, and visitors,
Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors.
Is subjected to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuations, post-disaster, etc.)
Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
Is subject to injury from falls, Odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminates,
Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB, AID and Hepatitis B viruses.
May be subject to the handling of and expose to hazardous chemicals
Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for the resident’s needs,
Education:
Must possess, as minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
Experience:
None: On-the-job training provided
Specific Requirements:
Must posses a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN or LPN/LVN in this state.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Language Skills: Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language.
Mathematical Skills: Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, and volume.
Communication Skills: Must have exceptional communication and customer service skills and be empathetic. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, responsible parties, staff and outside resources and agencies.
