ASSISTANT MEN’S SOCCER COACH
 

Bridgewater College, a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is seeking applications for the full-time position of Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach, to begin January 2023. This position reports to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:    

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the head coach in all facets of a Division III men’s soccer program
  • Recruiting prospective student-athletes who fit the mission and culture of the program and the College
  • Assist in organizing and coaching training sessions
  • Developing detailed scouting reports, video analysis breakdowns, and working with GPS technology/data
  • Assist with administrative duties, including budgeting, equipment inventory, community service, fundraising initiatives, etc.
  • Assist with program marketing and branding on a multitude of platforms, including social media
  • Providing mentoring and support for the student-athletes, particularly in regard to academics, player, and leadership development
  • Complying with all NCAA, conference and college policies and regulations
  • Secondary duties as assigned by athletic department

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Prior collegiate coaching experience and/or competitive collegiate playing experience required
  • Goalkeeper experience and/or training preferred
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Office applications is required
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:  Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as the first coeducational college in Virginia. Bridgewater offers bachelor’s degrees in approximately 60 majors and minors, along with four graduate programs, pre-professional programs such as medicine and law, and teacher licensure. The College is a member of NCAA Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, with 23 intercollegiate athletic teams. The vibrant residential campus is located in the town of Bridgewater, Virginia, near the city of Harrisonburg in the center of the Shenandoah Valley. An excellent school system, healthy business environment, numerous arts and cultural events, one of the state's lowest crime rates, and a variety of outdoor opportunities and historic attractions draw many to the region.
