Position Summary
Bridgeway Capital is seeking an Accounting Clerk, reporting to the Controller, to process and document financial and accounting transactions; assist the Staff Accountant in the month-end closing process, including general ledger entries; process loan transactions with Loan Administrator; prepare payroll through third-party; and assist the Staff Accountant in providing supporting documentation for annual audit with external auditors.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Process accounts payable transactions and cash disbursements
- Reconcile employee credit card transactions to general ledger
- Prepare and process deposits for all bank accounts
- Maintain miscellaneous (non-loan) accounts receivable records and customer communications
- Maintain physical and digital financial records
- Assist with the accurate recording of debt receipt records and transactions
- Assist with month-end closing processes
- Process and distribute employee timesheets for approval
- Provide support and work with auditors as needed
- Process miscellaneous tax reporting including 1099 reporting
- Process bi-monthly payroll
- Work with Loan Administrator to help service both new and existing loans customers
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 2 years transaction processing and bookkeeping experience
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills
- Strict attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team to meet deadlines and accomplish goals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeSuite
- Experience using accounting software preferred
- Willingness to productively participate, learn, and share knowledge as part of a team

The person in this position needs to regularly sit, utilize manual dexterity and repetitive finger motion, speak, hear and see with close vision.
