Manager of Tax
About the Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Manager of Tax to oversee the tax functions for our organization. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will manage day-to-day tax compliance, tax planning, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and proven experience in tax management, with an ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the company’s tax functions, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax filings, including income, indirect, and other tax-related reports.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to provide strategic tax planning and support for business initiatives.
- Lead and mentor a tax team, fostering a collaborative environment and providing growth opportunities.
- Develop and implement tax processes that increase efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Conduct tax risk assessments and provide recommendations to minimize exposure.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
- Stay current on tax legislation changes and assess their impact on the organization.
- Provide tax analysis and reporting to senior leadership for decision-making purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or advanced degree preferred).
- 3 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including experience managing a team.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
