What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Lead Weld position at Briggs & Stratton, LLC.?
Oversees the welding of the assigned product lines and delegates the daily work assignments. May perform production work as needed.
- Oversees the welding of products, ensuring the highest level of quality at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards. Responsible for performing quality checks, process audits, and component materials accuracy.
- Organizes space, equipment and personnel work assignments for successful execution of the production schedule, making adjustments as necessary.
- Resolves routine department equipment and personnel problems (i.e. attendance, performance & safety) while reporting non-routine problems to supervisor.
- Operates, sets-up, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs issues with a variety of production equipment
- Trains employees; assigns and directs work; provides feedback to supervisor regarding employee work performance; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use hand tools, etc.
- Ability to understand LEAN principles to perform job duties for continuous improvement
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
