Position: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant with Psychiatric CAQ

Reports to: Medical Director

Location: Bright Futures Ahead Maryland Outpatient Facilities

Compensation: $125,000 - $160,000 yearly (4 Day Work Week)


Position Overview: The Medical Provider conducts medical and psychiatric evaluations at Bright Futures Ahead, LLC. Baltimore outpatient centers. They will be part of an integrated team that provides services at Mental Health, PHP, IOP, and OP levels of care. The provider will be responsible for consumers care in both the Mental Health co-occurring and Substance Use disorders. They are responsible for counseling sessions / medication management with consumers and when necessary, individual, group, and family sessions with clients. Coordinates the treatment of clients assigned, develops treatment goals alongside the multi-disciplinary team. The goal modality for care is in-person services; however virtual services may be permitted based on COMAR/CARF/CSA and consumer needs.



Training & Experience:


Medical Director / PMHNP-BC or Physician Assistant with Psychiatric CAQ

  • Licensed Practitioner in the state of Maryland (or ability to transfer license)
  • Previous experience with providing counseling at outpatient centers.
  • Active DEA License
  • Previous experience with substance abuse treatment is required; preferred experience with a treatment facility in the detox, residential, partial hospitalization ("PHP"), and/or intensive outpatient consumers ("IOP) setting.
  • The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, including experience with consumers children, adolescents and adults.  
  • Must feel comfortable working independently.


Other Duties & Responsibilities of the Position


  • Contribute to a high-performing culture, focused on partnering with consumers as we inspire and empower change.
  • Identifies/provides education to consumers/families about current and potential health problems, the treatment plan, self-care, and prevention to achieve independence and maximum wellness.
  • Provide assessments, counseling, etc. for children, adolescents and adults if needed.
  • Provide medication management services for clients as needed.
  • Adhere to all aspects of the clinical program's policies and procedures to ensure quality performance and assist the Program Director in any quality improvements that may be necessary.
  • Contribute to client utilization reviews and medical necessity discussions with insurance payers as needed.
  • Partner with clinical team to provide in-services and educational information to family members to support an understanding of dual diagnosis/addictions and treatment strategies.
  • To consistently exercise good judgment and adequate emotional stability in evaluating situations and making decisions despite the pressures of deadlines or the occurrence of unexpected stressful events
