Summary
The Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) manages various healthcare services following established policies and protocols while working directly with providers, office teams, and clients. Our team members are our strength of service; therefore, Bright Futures Psychiatry Clinical Assistants will continue the mission by providing compassionate, prompt, and reliable care to our clients while playing a vital role in the success of our providers’ ability to deliver timely quality care.
Pay Rate:
$17.53- $20.31/hr.
Duties And Responsibilities
The following list describes the essential duties for both administrative and clinical duties.
- Welcomes, receives, and prepares clients for appointments/procedures; conducts interviews with clients, measures vital signs, and records information in electronic health records (E.H.R.)
- Work as patient liaison—assisting with clients' questions and helping the client feel at ease
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens by established protocol
- Maintains nursing stations, client rooms, and examination areas consistent with OSHA standards and Universal Precautions procedures
- Maintains inventory of medical supplies and materials
- Receives and screens telephone calls
- Schedule client appointments
- Coordinates client flow—to include medication review, prior authorization process
- Maintains office/department records
- Using technology to include but not be limited to EHR, computer applications, and telephone system
- Prepares timely, cohesive, and complete documentation within the EHR for all client care/interaction as provided by law, regulation, and established policy
- Applies safety principles as identified by established policy
- Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in client flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High school diploma or equivalent, formal Medical Assistant training or direct work experience preferred.
- Undergraduate in Psychology or Social Sciences preferred
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Good judgment, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the ability to make timely and sound decision
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Preferred: Basic Life Support (active AHA Provider Certification)
