Machine operator

The Technician will work in Northwest D.C. providing service for a full-service copy and printing center including copy / print services utilizing high-speed copiers and other services such as cutting, folding, laminating, binding, tabbing, scanning, etc.

Required Experience :

• Must have at least 1 year of experience in performing work in a print / copy center and must have demonstrated experience with large projects that include :
• Copying
• Scanning
• Tabbing
• Binding
• Quality Control
• Must have the ability to operate and perform adjustments and minor repairs on a wide assortment of printing and binding equipment.
• This includes but is not limited to the following machines : Xerox 5390, 5100, 1090; Kodak 92P, 3100, 2085; Canon 6650, 6050, 2120;

Risograph; Hamada Duetto press; Seybold paper cutter; multi-head drills; stitchers; and various tabletop binding equipment.

Responsibilities include :

• Adjusts and operates stitchers, multi-head drills, Seybold paper cutters, and various binding equipment.
• Large binding and tabbing projects
• Responsible for set-up, make-ready, operations, and operational maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains job production records specifying quantity, production times, and material used.
• Completes requisition forms when supplies are needed.
• Maintains records related to machine maintenance and downtime.
• Responsible for assuring that equipment, supplies, and other associated materials are available to meet requests for publishing services.

The Print Technician is first shift, Monday through Friday. The position offers benefits including healthcare, paid time-off, and a 401k with a company match.

This position starts at an hourly pay rate of $23.69. The position requires on-site work in the Washington DC area and is not a work from home or remote opportunity.
