The Government Grants Manager manages the agency wide fiscal processes for government contract and grant renewal, budgeting, reporting and compliance. This position requires highly accurate record keeping as well as the ability to effectively collaborate with program leaders to review new opportunities and align potential funding opportunities with organizational vision and goals. In this role, you will also coordinate the post-award grant process, including ongoing consulting and collaborating with finance, program staff, and external funders. The Government Grants Manager reports to the Controller.

Candidate qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management and accounting, including budget preparation and financial analysis required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience producing clear reports, organizational charts, and visual diagrams highly desirable.

Job details: 

  • Compensation: Range starts at 85,000/year; offers are commensurate with candidate qualifications and experience
  • Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3 weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here)
  • Location: Must be within reasonable driving distance to Chicago and available to work from home office at 200 West Monroe Street (downtown Chicago loop) 2x/week.
  • Schedule: Full-time, salaried. Regular business hours.
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
