The Occupational Therapist must be able to evaluate the patient’s condition and develop an individualized plan tailored to each client based on the physician’s orders. Under indirect supervision, provides rehabilitative and developmental therapy support services for ambulatory or inpatient clients within a specified patient care facility or home setting. Directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance. Facilitates the learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, diminish or correct pathology, and promote and maintain health.

Responsibilities
Work cooperatively with physicians to develop care and treatment plan that is appropriate for client’s home environment, especially as it relates to physical and mental functioning, interventions, and home safety
Initiate occupational therapy program and instructs other personnel and/or family members and caregivers in specific phases of occupational therapy with which they may assist with client care.
Report client’s response to treatment or changes in condition to the Director of Nursing and physician
- Participate in the development of the client’s total plan of treatment
Prepare clinical and progress summaries, as well as participate in discharge planning. A copy of the summaries will be submitted to the Director of Nursing
Requirements
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program
Licensed by and in good standing with TX Board of OT Examiners
Two (2) years of recent experience as a occupational therapist. Community/home health is preferred
Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
