Medical Director Job Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely completion of admission physicals, annual physicals, medical histories, lab
testing, consistent with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and soundmedical practice. * Review appropriate lab results as well as medical documentation from other healthcare
providers and manage each patient accordingly. * Prescribe and titrate the appropriate dosage of medications.
- Screen patients for common medical co-morbidities and evaluate co-existing medical
conditions. * Write medical orders based on the individual needs of the patient and sign off on all medical
orders within 72 hours. * Collaborate and coordinate care with other physicians, clinics, or hospitals.
- Provide medical input into overall treatment program philosophy, treatment services, and
patient care when requested. * Provide consultation to medical, clinical, and administrative staff in formulation and
implementation of each patient’s medical treatment. * Conduct in-service training and community education as requested .
- Assist in developing affiliations and collaborative relationships with community based
medical providers. * Provide medical training and supervision for physicians and advanced practitioners.
- Participate in peer reviews for BrightView Medical Directors and/or Program Physicians to
comply with accrediting agency requirements. * Provide input to Program Director on medication nurses’ annual performance evaluation.
- Ensure adequate availability to respond in a timely manner to treatment center staff and
emergency care providers when they require consultation for patients. * Assist the Site Manager in the implementation and enforcement of BrightView’s Code of
Ethics and Conduct. * Comply with all state, federal, and local regulatory agency and accrediting agency
requirements.Medical Director Job Qualifications * Must hold a valid, active Virginia State medical license
- Current State controlled substance registration
- Federal DEA certificate with DATA 2000 waiver number
- Addiction Board Certification Preferred
- Demonstrate basic computer/word processing skills
- Must possess characteristics such as high integrity, self-starter, and sound judgement
- Good at identifying issues, formulating long-term solutions, and solving problems
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $250,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
