We are seeking a Surge (Processing) Support Caseworker to join our team, focusing on our integrated eligibility systems project. This role involves working closely with state governmental agencies to ensure efficient processing of public benefits applications through the implementation of an integrated eligibility system (IES). The ideal candidate will have previous experience in eligibility determination for programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, and possess strong technical acumen to support technology adoption projects.
Duties:
- Evaluate and enter applicant data into the integrated eligibility system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program guidelines.
- Compute benefits based on eligibility determinations and program regulations.
- Utilize fact-finding techniques to gather and assess applicant information, ensuring comprehensive evaluation for benefit eligibility.
- Interpret and apply detailed federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures related to public benefits programs.
- Perform basic arithmetic functions to calculate benefit amounts and income thresholds accurately.
- Manage time efficiently to meet processing deadlines and maintain productivity standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an eligibility specialist with state governmental agencies, preferably in Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF programs.
- Experience in technology adoption projects, particularly with integrated eligibility systems or similar software implementations.
- Proven ability to provide field support or training related to eligibility determination processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor, capable of collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote/work-from-home setting, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
- Humility, grit, and flexibility in handling dynamic work environments and evolving project requirements.
