General Summary: Brillient Corporation is seeking a Public Health Writer/Health Communications Specialist who will participate in and facilitate the research, development, implementation, and evaluation of health education communications campaigns, strategies, and initiatives for diverse audiences. You will research, write and edit content for communications products in a variety of formats, in support of FDA health education and promotion efforts. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other communications specialists, health subject matter experts, multimedia developers, writers, editors, and program managers across multiple health communications campaigns.
Essential Job Functions:
• Support the development, execution, and evaluation of health communication programs, campaigns, and multi-media initiatives.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of health disparities on chronic disease prevalence among communities of color.
• Write and edit a variety of health education products including consumer driven articles (e.g., blogs), speeches for leadership, scientific and consumer audiences, web content, press releases, podcasts, among other content and/or sensitive items to support communications and marketing efforts.
• Write engaging content with stellar grammar that adheres to style guides.
• Assist with qualitative interviews, focus groups, field testing, surveys, and other means of gaining insights into audience perspectives, needs, and preferences.
• Apply results of audience research to communications materials by crafting engaging messages for a variety of media (i.e., print, digital, audiovisual, web-based, social media) that are culturally relevant and can be disseminated in formats appropriate for key target audiences.
• Work closely with strategic communications experts and other content experts to leverage knowledge and resources, thereby ensuring accuracy of messages and materials.
• Develop social media messaging for specific health communications initiatives. Write content for social media accounts (e.g., Twitter and Facebook).
• Contribute to audience and content research informing communications program initiatives.
• Support development of strategies for media monitoring, environmental scans/landscape analyses, and social listening to inform communications campaigns.
• Help create dissemination and outreach plans to promote communications products.

Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree
Experience Requirement: 12 years of specialized experience in operations or management relevant to the applicable task
Other Requirement(s): This position requires U.S. Citizenship or a Green Card holder and the ability to obtain and maintain a Government public trust level security clearance. For a candidate that is a Green Card holder, they must have lived in the United States for at least three out of the past five years prior to your application date. You will also meet the residency qualifications if you lived abroad while on government or military duty or if you were a dependent of a federal employee of military member.
Performance Requirements:
• At least 3 years of experience working in health communications and/or media.
• Ability to produce high-quality deliverables.
• Experience writing and editing content for dissemination in various formats (e.g., print products, web-based content, audiovisual media, social media messages).
• Knowledge of health communications outreach marketing strategies.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Work performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and customers.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Must be able to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple demands and deadlines.
