Root Cause Analyst (SME) - Food Safety

General Summary: Brillient Corporation is seeking an experienced Root Cause Analyst to join its Team supporting a federal contract.  This role involves conducting research on practices used by other agencies and countries to conduct root cause investigations food manufacturers as well as researching guidance and resources made available.

Essential Job Functions:

• Collaborate with federal, state, industry, consumer, and academic stakeholders to advance, standardize, and socialize root cause analysis protocols for food safety.
• Analyze how to address concerns about how to disclose actions related to data analyses in a way that provides any necessary protection of confidentiality and proprietary interests while advancing transparency.
• Strengthen root cause analysis procedures - coordinating with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial partners - to ensure rapid deployment as soon as an outbreak is traced to a specific site.
• Standardize criteria and format for producing reports on root cause analyses of outbreaks and determine the most expedited process for disseminating information and required actions to prevent a reoccurrence.
• Enhance communication tools, for quickly and transparently relaying the outcomes of root cause analyses, both internally and externally, in a timely manner.
• Incorporate root cause analysis data into the agency's risk ranking and predictive analytical systems to increase the likelihood of predicting and mitigating future contamination events.

Education Requirement: BA/BS Degree

Experience Requirement: Minimum 20 years of experience working in the relevant area of expertise.

Other Requirement(s): This position requires U.S. Citizenship or a Green Card holder and the ability to obtain and maintain a Government public trust level security clearance. For a candidate that is a Green Card holder, they must have lived in the United States for at least three out of the past five years prior to your application date. You will also meet the residency qualifications if you lived abroad while on government or military duty or if you were a dependent of a federal employee of military member.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Work performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and customers.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Must be able to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple demands and deadlines.
