Product Development Assistant
The Product Development Assistant will be the connection between the sales and production team by interpreting and collaborating on garments and specs for the production team in various factories around the globe. The right person has a strong sense of design, business, time management, project management and understands the fashion production business.
Work with team to assist in development of activewear line to increase our market share. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the development of tech packs based on samples from the market and working with various factories to achieve desired finial product. You will help coordinate and assist in negotiation on pricing with factories, as well as working thru the sample process. Preparation of purchase orders and coordinating the details with each factory for smooth steady and regular production. We do not like to work under pressure! You must be extremely organized, with the strong attention to detail with each project. Responsible for assisting in the development of tech packs based on samples bought on the open market, to coordinate with various vendors for product development and pricing, thru production. The majority of your role will be to assist in the interpretation, collaboration and coordinatization with our team and our factories. You will be responsible for input with our retailers and internal-sales team on product development and production requests
We work with companies in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and China, you will be required to provide timely communication. Timely communication requires effort throughout the day and night on a global clock between USA and various countries of origin.
Responsibilities:
Review current garments in consideration as well as new garments.
Assist with research, track and provide recommendations on latest fashion trends and concepts
Ensure detailed tech specs designed and approved by team and factory with crystal clarity
Prepare and develop initial and future concepts for retailers and clients
Follow up with overseas factories on production status as often as required and review status of samples and orders.
Understand and analyze reports, invoices and purchase orders
Understand how changes can affect cost and prepare for negotiations, changes
Track the production orders to maintain on time deliver
Ensure relaying production delays/ lead times/ backorder dates to CS and sales staff
Help prepare shipping and logistics team on delivery of Order
Communication with factories, warehouse, freight forwarders, sales representatives and various internal departments when needed
Skills:
Highly skilled in Adobe Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop) and Microsoft Excel
Sketching CADs in Illustrator.
Creation of development tech packs.
Create and maintain all line sheets, development tracking charts.
Good knowledge of garment construction.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
Knowledge of a wide assortment of fabrications is a plus.
Experience:
Product Development in Fashion Industry: 3-5 years
Google Sheets: 3 years (Required)
Adobe Photoshop: 3 years (Preferred)
Languages: If you speak Hindi or Urdu and/or Bengali is a huge benefit!

Pay: $39,000.00 - $46,800.00 per year
