Position:          Manager, MES Engineer (ref.# 7997)

Duties: Develop and maintain a MES (Manufacturing Execution System) support strategy that integrates process knowledge, equipment design, and quality standards with information technology to reduce down-time, elevate the level of regulatory compliance, and introduce efficiency gains through effective use of available technologies by drawing on experience with MES software technologies; computer system validation and technical writing; electronic report development and label printing technologies; ISA88 standards – design and specifications batch control systems;  database and historian technologies; process mapping, data analytics and data driven automation solutions; and project management. Implement manufacturing information and reporting systems that support the creation of paperless batch records and facilitate product release. Responsible for the software and data maintenance of computer systems used for the development, testing, and the production of bulk drug substances. Evaluate and implement MES application updates and changes. Oversee the development of procedures, documentation tools and techniques to efficiently generate required life-cycle system design documentation. Monitor systems performance and review logs and diagnostic information and respond appropriately. Understand the manufacturing processes and system configuration and make informed recommendations regarding optimal system configuration. Support software and configuration required for external systems interfaces such as DeltaV (Distributed Control System), SAP (Enterprise Resource Planning Software), LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), and Maximo (Computerized Maintenance Management System). May work remotely 5 days every 2 weeks within normal commuting distance of Devens, MA.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a related field plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience showing demonstrable ability in the skill set described above. The required skills do not need to be maintained over the full term of required experience.

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $105,000/year – 150,000/year, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
