- Serve as an informational resource to families and staff regarding Bristol’s mathematics curriculum and strategies to support learning at home
- Develop and facilitate at least three district-wide math family events as meaningful opportunities for families to engage in their child’s education
- Develop three mathematics nights to familiarize Bristol community partners (before/after care programs, community-based programs, preschool providers, at home daycare providers) with information regarding mathematics curriculum and instruction
- Develop and facilitate additional math-focused family events based on the request of elementary schools as meaningful opportunities for all families to engage in their child's education
- Build grade level appropriate, curricularly aligned take-home math kits for all students
- Provide mathematics information and materials to families through periodic newsletters in both English and Spanish
- Assist families with at-home practice and training tests for Smarter Balanced Math Assessments (Grades 3-5)
- Foster interconnectedness between students by coordinating a “math-match-up” program between Bristol high school students and elementary students
- Connect and develop relationships with our hard-to-reach families through various means of communication (in-person or virtual meetings, phone calls, ParentSquare, etc.)
- Participate in grade level math professional learning
- Flexible schedule to meet the needs of families - some hours will be outside of the school day
- Enhance communication between families and school staff
- Develop, promote, and facilitate math understanding through various activities including math-focused family events
- Maintain monthly log of family/community work at school site
- Support staff and families to develop strong partnerships

Description of Service:
Partnering with families is a critical component to students’ success in school. In order to support families’ understanding of our Bristol mathematics curriculum and resources, Bristol is seeking a Math Family Outreach Coordinator. The math family outreach coordinator will be an individual serving as a liaison between teachers, families, and students to support the academic achievement of all of our Bristol students in mathematics at the elementary level.
