SK126 - Newborn Care Specialist - Bedford, NY

Overview

A lovely couple in Bedford, NY are looking for a wonderful newborn care specialist for their first baby, due October 11th, 2024.  The schedule will be 20/7, for 12 weeks. The NCS should be available from October 11th, 2024 through January 31st, 2025, with some flexibility for an earlier start if the baby arrives early.  The family would like to have the option to extend the position if needed if the candidate is available, but they do not want to rule anyone out who is unable to extend as they cannot guarantee the additional work at this time.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
• Overall care of the baby
• Help ensure the baby is on a feeding routine, helping mom with breastfeeding if she chooses, and assisting with bottles if needed
• Implementing an effective sleep routine that the family can follow once the term ends
• Supporting the family in their new role as first-time parents
• Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby, while respecting the family’s personal preferences
• Assist with baby related tasks such as washing and sanitizing baby products, laundry, organizing, etc

Qualifications

• Friendly, personable, with the ability to read the room.

Requirements

• At least 5 years' verifiable experience working as a newborn care specialist
• Experience working long-term 20/7 shifts
• Local and have own transportation to Bedford, public transit is complicated in their area so having your own car will be easier.
• Comfortable around dogs
• Comfortable going up and down stairs in the residences
• There may be some travel in this role, so the NCS must be willing and able to join the family at their residence in the city as needed.
• US passport, Green Card or EAC 
• Up to date on Flu/RSV/TDap and MMR vaccinations
• Available to start October 11 and commit for 12 weeks
• Excellent verifiable references
• Willing to share a sleeping area with the baby while in the city, will have own room when in Bedford

Salary and Benefits

• $400-$600/day, based on experience
