We currently have a full-time Informatics Assistant opening at our corporate office in Asheville, NC / North Carolina.
Broad River Rehabilitation partners with skilled nursing and assisted living facilities to provide exceptional physical, occupational and speech therapy services.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a general list of key job duties and responsibilities: The list is not to be considered inclusive and you will be required to perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by an authorized supervisor.
- Utilize the electronic medical records to gather data as requested.
- Provide daily reports to Informatics Nurse and field staff on ADL coding information in the facilities. Performs a variety of data collection and analysis assignments.
- Prepares ad hoc data requests as directed.
- Prepares and/or formats graphs, spreadsheets and reports by utilizing office software.
- May be asked to maintain databases on a regular basis by entering data and preparing data extracts.
- May extract information from different sources to compile data.
- Executes existing queries for established reports.
- Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with professional staff
- Maintain confidentiality of company, patient and client information.
- Adhere to the appropriate dress code for assigned facility and work
- environment.
- Adhere to the requirements of the patient's Bill of Rights.
Administrative Skills:
- Complete appropriate forms and records, as directed, make copies,
and obtain necessary signatures.
- Ensure that written and oral communications are directed to
appropriate personnel.
- Follow established protected health information (HIPPA) policies to
prevent privacy or security breaches. If breach identified, report to Broad River Rehab Management.
- Skill in the use of personal computers using Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Skill in using an electronic medical record (or the ability to learn how to navigate multiple systems quickly and efficiently.)
- Ability to meet established timelines-must be able to work quickly but accurately.

Primary Physical Requirements:
Conditions typically associated with an office environment. While performing the essential duties and responsibilities, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. May be frequently required to sit, stand or walk. Moderate to prolonged reading, typing, and computer work. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity that may include lifting up to 50 pounds. Subject to exposure to all environmental hazards associated with healthcare and office work.
Other Physical Considerations
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

- Knowledge of electronic health systems and ability to navigate and extract information in a timely manner.
CREDENTIALS:
High School Diploma
Prefer MDS experience
Current physical exam and/or free from communicable disease as required by state law.
