The Accountant is responsible for all finance and accounting-related functions in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. Duties include Client Billing, Accounts payable, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, government tax remittances, audits, ad-hoc reports for management, and managing various ongoing and upcoming systems conversions. Key Job Functions/Responsibilities Monthly Client billing, preparing billing spreadsheet for Account Management review/approval Responding to client billing inquiries Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting (Journal Entries, analysis) Updating forecast information on a monthly basis Monthly balance sheet reconciliation using Blackline system (preparation) Federal and provincial sales tax returns Accounts Payable processing of vendor invoices (Oracle). Vendor set-up and GL coding Preparing wire forms for non-CAD$ currency AP wire payment forms Intercompany transactions, liaising with other Broadridge business units (U.S. and U.K) Ad-hoc reporting for management Training end users and answering any inquiries on new A/P and Expense Report systems Basic Skill Level Requirements Education: CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Experience: At least 3 years of full-cycle post designation accounting experience Ability to manage projects to successful completion Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Skills: Excellent time management, communications, organizational, and decision-making skills Strong written and oral communication skills Working with little supervision High level of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines Possessin key attributes that promote the ability to work with individuals at all levels within an organization Excellent computing skills, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook Solid knowledge of accounting procedures Knowledge of the securities industry is an asset Tools: Proficiency with Oracle (GL and AP) and Blackline system is an asset Recruitment Process COVID-19 has accelerated change across our workplace, including our hiring practices.
