DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide ongoing assessment and observation of individuals served and create clinically appropriate Behavioral Intervention Plans based on outcome of assessments conducted.
  • Ensure that all direct care staff are trained and knowledgeable about individual behavior plans.
  • Act as an integral part of the individual’s clinical treatment team and ensure continuity of care and clinical services.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments including FBA, FAST, MAS.
  • Create and monitor implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans in accordance with BACB, Broadstep Academy, and company standards.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to Direct Support Professionals with regards to individual Behavior Plans, levels of clinical supervision required, and additional clinical interventions/services required.
  • Provide crisis intervention to individuals served.
  • Ensure that all applicable local, state, federal, and licensing regulations and internal policies are followed.
  • Collaborate with treatment team to ensure completion of individual treatment plans in compliance with NJ State, Broadstep Academy and company regulations.
  • Rotate 24-hour on-call with clinical team members.
  • Performs all duties within HIPAA regulations.
  • Implement policy and procedures across the healthcare facility.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of individual visits.
  • Must successfully complete all required trainings identified in the subsidiary’s specific training curriculum prior to the start date in the program and within six months according to Broadstep’s training policies. Also, must successfully complete all components of the On-the-Job (“OJT”) Training/Onboarding Experience and yearly Continuing Education (“CE”) courses based on program/licensing/contractual requirements.
  • Provide and ensure the complete service delivery in a healthy and safe manner that supports Broadstep’s vision, mission and values.
  • Must cooperate with the Licensee and Department in any inspection or investigations.
  • Ensure the integration and implementation of all Broadstep and subsidiary policies, procedures, state-specific regulatory requirements, contract stipulations and accreditation standards, including but not limited to:
  • Knowledge that abuse (physical, sexual, verbal/psychological), neglect, exploitation and misappropriation and other code of ethics violations are against the law and company code of conduct. The team member must be able to implement all facets of the company’s Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation and Misappropriation policy, including the responsibility of being a mandatory reporter. Per state requirements and company policy, team members will report immediately to the state licenser, appropriate company personnel and external contacts, and they will fully participate in all stages of an investigation pertaining to suspected abuse by team members, parents and others. Additionally, the team member must comply with any external (County, State or Federal) investigation or inspection. Team Members in IL and NJ are required to contact state reporting agencies immediately;
  • Knowledge of all individual rights and the ability to identify, intervene and report appropriately when observing a violation;
  • Knowledge of the confidentiality policy and HIPAA laws, and always apply the practices governing those policies and legislation;
  • Knowledge of the subsidiary-implemented crisis intervention programs and be able to implement all protocols as identified in the individual’s treatment plan;
  • Knowledge of all company transportation procedures and operates all personal and company vehicles in accordance with those policies;
  • Knowledge of all company crisis/emergency plans and applies that knowledge during each test drill and actual crisis situation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct managerial responsibilities
  • Provide supervision to DSPs specifically related to BIPs and ongoing progress toward behavioral goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or another human services related field with experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Credentialed as a BCBA or all coursework requirements complete and able to sit for the exam within 3 months of hire
  • Possess at least 2 years’ experience with individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
  • Requirement that the employee submit to a criminal background check, and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served.
  • Requirement that the employee agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
  • All employees hired after 6/15/18 shall submit to drug testing prior to employment.
  • All employees shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause.
  • All employees shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).
  • Availability for on-call rotation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Continually remain active, alert and able to respond to all scenarios.
  • Possess the ability to perform and personally apply the state-specific crisis intervention program and CPR/First Aid skills in their entirety in trainings and actual events.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl, and exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
  • Continually required to stand, walk, sit, to utilize hand and finger dexterity, and required to talk or hear.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
