Animal Care Technician/Veterinary Assistant

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of steady work experience
• Experience working in a veterinary facility is preferred.
• Experience working in an animal care facility, an animal shelter, a doggy daycare, or a grooming facility is best.
• High school diploma or GED required
• You must be at least 18 years old, no exceptions!

Must be proficient in the following skills

• Able to multitask
• Detail oriented
• Passion for organization
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Able to stand for long period of time
• Able to lift up to 50lb
• Able to take direction well
• Experience giving vaccines, performing nail trims, drawing blood, and basic animal restraint is preferred but not required.

Essential Functions:

• Restocking supplies
• Cleaning
• Organizing
• Assisting technicians as needed
• Animal restraint
• Fill prescriptions
• Clean cages
• Feed/walk patients
• Lift over 50lb
