Janitorial/ Groundskeeper

Fairmont Apartments is looking for a Janitor/ Groundskeeper who will provide and maintain a clean and safe environment for our residents and personnel. Must be available to work from 8-5 pm Monday through Friday. With possible occasional changes in schedule.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Maintaining the cleanliness of leasing and Managers office, clubroom, office kitchen and bathrooms, laundry rooms and fitness center.
Maintaining the cleanliness of the Exterior areas of the community including trash areas, sidewalks, stairwells, exterior lights fixtures, parking lots and driveways, carports, mailbox sites, and building exteriors. Needs to maintain good curb appeal at all times. The person we are looking for must be able to follow direction, work independently, and have the ability to prioritize tasks based on importance. They must have the ability to multi-task.
This person will have the opportunity to learn more complex tasks such as apartment turnovers and light maintenance once they have successfully completed all required tasks. This position may sometimes include cleaning a vacant apartment.

Duties include but not limited to:
Wiping down
Sweeping
Mopping
Power washing
Vacuuming
Washing
Emptying garbage
Checking and replacing supplies as needed
Brushing
Painting

Must be honest and reliable
Have the ability to provide service with a positive and cooperative demeanor
Able to take direction and follow instructions
Must be able to adhere to a provided schedule but also have the ability to be flexible as needed
Must be able to work within fair housing guidelines
Must be able to successfully pass background and drug screening
Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form
Must be able to read and comprehend written documentation

Physical Requirements:
Able to reach and lift objects above head
Lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
Able to bend, sit, stoop, stretch, kneel and work in a crouched position
Able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift (excluding breaks and lunch).
Able to climb up and down a ladder and stairs on a daily basis for extended periods of time.
