JOB SUMMARY: Provides skilled Occupational Therapy services to patients of Brodstone Healthcare. Performs all aspects of patient care and activities related to Occupational Therapy. Promoted departmental services and assists with quality improvement activities. This is a part-time or PRN opportunity.
EDUCATION:
Master's Degree, Occupational Therapy (required)
Doctoral Degree, Occupational Therapy (preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years' experience (preferred)
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current licensure through the State of Nebraska as an Occupational Therapist (or able to obtain prior to start date) (required)
Basic Life Support or ability to obtain upon hire (required)
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

- Assist the patient’s physician in evaluating the patient’s functional, motor, perceptual motor and sensory integrative ability by administering diagnostic and prognostic tests.
- Establish a plan of treatment which is designed to accomplish treatment goals and is approved by the patient’s physician.
- Administer treatment procedures and rehabilitative activities as approved by the physician through therapeutic use of functional or restorative activities of daily living.
- Select and teach task-oriented therapeutic activities designed to restore functional ability.
- Teach compensatory techniques designed to improve the level of independence in activities of daily living.
- Record clinical notes for all patients as required and report to the referring physician, when necessary, the patient’s reaction to treatment, any changes in the patient’s condition suggested changes in patient’s orders, and implementation of discharge planning procedure.
- Adjust the plan of treatment and goals when necessary and with the physician’s approval.
- Instruct the patient and family in-home programs when indicated.
- Instruct and supervise other health team members in occupational therapy procedures and techniques which are performed as an adjustment to the regular occupational therapy plan of treatment.
- Coordinate therapy and goals with other team members when appropriate.
- Attend patient and utilization review meetings when requested.
- Maintain a current knowledge of the occupational therapy profession by participation in formal education programs, workshops, and professional organizations.
- Make arrangements for community resources when indicated.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings / in-services, Brodstone Healthcare quality improvement program, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
