JOB SUMMARY: 

We are growing our thrift business across multiple states and are seeking a candidate who will play a significant role in building our IT system’s capabilities and contributions.  In this important leadership position in which you will oversee, analyze, and direct all IT management functions for the organization while supervising staff assigned to the IT department.  This position is accountable for the management of the company’s information technology systems.  The IT Director will direct, plan, organize and control all aspects of the IT Department to ensure continuity of technology services for users throughout the organization through planning, technical leadership, hands-on implementation, support of technical solutions, and infrastructure project coordination, and daily end user support.

DIRECT REPORTS: IT Systems Manager, IT Network/Security Technician, Service Desk Specialist

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform all supervisory responsibilities associated with the IT department including but not limited to hiring, training, performance management, work direction, and budgeting.
  • Procure, install, and maintain all computer hardware and software.
  • Conduct needs assessments, evaluate equipment, software, and processes; forecast costs and recommend changes related to IT operations and support of all company technology.
  • Oversee data security and compliance, network, database, and application performance.
  • Develop and own system failover and disaster recovery plan for all IT systems.
  • Create a technical design for in-store technology infrastructure; upgrade and maintain all stores to meet that standard.
  • Deploy a reliable and responsive network for telecommunications between stores, field offices, and the home office.
  • Act as liaison with contractors, vendors, and hardware/software suppliers.
  • Monitor existing systems, processes, and procedures, and create and enforce written policies and procedures regarding Information Systems.
  • Oversee asset identification and preventative maintenance and replacement schedule for technology equipment.
  • Set and ensure the standards of the IT department within broad outlines provided by the executive management team and contribute to the continuity of information systems by providing necessary technical leadership and project coordination.
  • Communicate to leadership with monthly reporting of departmental outcomes and assure responsiveness of long-range planning to corporate objectives.
  • Stay abreast and provide information on any developments in technology.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure the IT team is professional in responses to service request work tickets during completion of any technology issues, and assist users with any questions related to IT systems.
  • Able to collaborate with all departments in the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Programming, Computer Science or related field or equivalent technical experience of 10 years will be considered.
  • Demonstrated IT project management and leadership.
  • 8 years management experience in an IT environment.
  • 5 years minimum managing technical personnel.
  • Retail and Point of Sale (POS) system experience required, Thrift Retail desired.
  • Distributed networking and data communication architecture experience required.
  • Data warehouse reporting, vendor management, Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software, and diverse hardware acquisition/management experience.
  • Experience with on-premise, hybrid, and full cloud technical architectures, including migrating legacy systems to the cloud.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Azure, AWS, network security, and Dev/Ops   certifications highly desired.

  • Strong time management skills and demonstrate adherence to timelines and schedules.
  • Good interpersonal skills: able to work well with a wide range of people.
  • Knowledge of network operations, device connectivity, general Cloud based experience.
  • Excellent Project Management and Change Management skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to take initiative in development and completion of projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, strong knowledge in other Microsoft applications such as SQL, and also Tableau.
