What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATERIAL HANDLER position at Brook & Whittle LTD?
Shift : Monday-Thursday (3p-1a)
The Material Handler will be responsible for supplying the press department with supplies needed from the warehouse; keeping the warehouse organized and orderly by helping to unload trucks and marking, bar-coding, and putting paper and other supplies into inventory.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Supplies Press with papers and supplies
- Unload trucks and putting inventory into the warehouse
- Up stock / down stock the material in the warehouse by using the Forklift and pallet jacks
- Removes waste from press areas and keep all areas organized and stocked.
- Lifts 5-50 pound of paper rolls and supplies constantly throughout the work day and pushes or pulls 75-pound carts on wheels
- Helps with label pick-ups from press to shipping as needed
- Cleans work area prior to end of shift
- Helps with label pick-ups from press to shipping
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- The minimum education required for this position is High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Has proficient understanding of principles in one or more functions. Typically possesses 0 to 3 years of relevant work experience
- In-house forklift certification is required
- Good verbal and written skills
Physical Requirements & Environmental
Regular exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc.

- Incumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push / pull, bend, stoop, twisting and use manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time.
- Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision
- Incumbent regularly required to carry and lift up to 50 lbs
