Description :
The Pre-Press Operator takes artwork from the customer and prepares the file in a manner necessary to effectively print the product meeting the customer specifications.
The position will communicate professionally with customers in order to effectively create the artwork file required to print the desired label.
The position is responsible to decipher, evaluate and interpret the artwork files provided using troubleshooting, analyzing, and colorizing skills to produce an optimum performing product while working within the systems and policies implemented by the company.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Soft and Hard Copy proofing.
- Making revisions to artwork as requested.
- Preparing and sending final files to the Press.
- Provides feedback and suggestions to supervision about current or future workflow problems or needs.
- Communicates with coworkers and customers as necessary via phone and email.
- Learns all new / current software.
- Frequently communicates with internal personnel and customers.
- Maintains performance standards regarding rework percentage or errors made.
- Drives best practices, looking for improvements with working methods where possible.
- Must be safety conscious, punctual and follow company standards set in the Employee Handbook.
- Available to work occasional overtime as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- High school diploma or GED required. A degree or trade certification is preferred.
- 1-3 years experience in Pre-flighting artwork.
- Experience in Adobe, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Additional experience in Excel, Esko Tools and Automation Engine are a plus.
- Has a track record of exceeding all production goals.
- Knowledge of computers (Mac and PC).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions and decimals.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Customer Service skills.
