We are expanding our healthcare team and seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our new state-of-the-art OBGYN (outpatient) office located in Amonk, NY. Our Medical Assistants are a vital part of our healthcare team’s success, as the initial point of contact with patients come into our outpatient medical center. The ideal Medical Assistant will have at least 1-2 years of experience within a hospital, medical center, or outpatient setting, but this is not a necessity. Position: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: Armonk, NY
Department: OBGYN
Schedule: Monday - Friday / 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (no weekends or holidays)
Salary: $20 - $30 per hour (40 hr. work week)
Responsibilities:
- Take patients History of Present Illness (HPI) and accurately record it in the EMR.
- Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documents findings.
- Performing EKGs (Intermediate Experience Level)
- The Medical Assistant I provide clinical office support to Physicians & Surgeons and performs patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care.
- Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, assisting patients as needed with walking, transferring, dressing,
- Collecting and processing specimens and point of care testing, preparing for exam.
- Assists physicians with various procedures, takes vital signs, relays instructions to patients and or families; answers incoming calls and provides pertinent information.
- Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.
Qualifications:
- Ideally two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience within an outpatient office, hospital, or medical center
- Certification in Medical Assisting from an accredited institution (required)
- RMA or CCMA (highly preferred but not required)
- High School Diploma (required)
