The Information Technology Division (ITD) provides expertise in computing hardware and software support, as well as telecommunications services for the entire Laboratory. ITD investigates, recommends, and automates process improvements to business systems within the Lab community. ITD oversees library, publications and records management.
Position Description:
The IT Division at BNL is looking for full-stack, .NET developers with experience developing Web applications from requirements to deployment. The position would involve working with groups and efforts outside of ITD developing new applications while also assisting in the maintenance/remediation of older applications. It would also involve acting as a technical resource providing guidance on technical decisions and coaching junior developers. The work is client facing and so applicant would also have to have strong customer interaction and communication skills and require independent management of projects. Any new development should follow latest .NET practices and technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining web-based, .NET applications from collecting requirements to deployment to long term support
Manage and execute projects independently including technical direction, task management, and deliverables
Meeting client needs and maintaining relationships with groups outside ITD with strong written, oral, and presentation skills
Providing insight and advice regarding technical decisions
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Computer Science or related discipline.
8 years of relevant experience.
Extensive .NET (4.x, 6 ) & C# development experience with a focus on Web applications and Web services
Expertise with SQL Server including Entity Framework development
Familiarity with architecting solutions and creation of requirements for applications
Knowledge of front-end development technologies (i.e., jQuery, Bootstrap)
Experience with GIT and using GITLab as a repository and collaboration tool
Client management abilities including project management and strong communication skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Oracle usage in .NET contexts
Facility with Classic ASP for maintaining and replacing older applications
SharePoint, Power Apps, and PowerBI experience
Work in Boomi or other integration solutions
Searching and reporting in Splunk

Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $105,500 - $176,000. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
