Digital Project Manager—Marketing and Communications
The Brooklyn Museum seeks a skilled Digital Project Manager for a full-time, hybrid position (remote and in person). This person will be a key member of our growing Engagement team, working with leads across our team and the Museum to manage digital transformation projects with a huge impact on our organization and its future.
Reporting to the Director of Digital and Director of Customer Relationship Management, the Digital Project Manager will help run projects to overhaul our website, CRM, and related systems in order to create an excellent experience for visitors, members, and art lovers around the world while also empowering our broader team to create impactful and innovative work.
This is a two-year, grant-funded position.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, with at least two years working specifically on digital projects; experience with Agile processes a plus
- A demonstrated ability to manage and deliver digital projects on time, within budget, and within scope
- Experience working with a wide range of digital technologies, including Content Management Systems (CMSs), CRMs, digital analytics tools, and project management software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including designers and developers, and maintain/grow relationships
- A reputation for remaining calm, strategic, and solutions-focused when problems arise
- An understanding of and experience with incorporating Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in web-based solutions
- Strong intuition and judgment—always one step ahead and able to make decisions
- Strong time management and organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines at once
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in art
- Experience working with or within cultural institutions
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Love of visual design
Responsibilities
Working closely with digital leads to manage digital and CRM projects from start to finish, this individual will:
- Create and manage scopes, timelines, and budgets, bringing team(s) to agreement on project plans, budgets, schedules, and deliverables, while identifying any risks
- Guide, support, and advise internal stakeholders on the benefits and implications of proposed solutions; organize and provide regular updates and communications with project teams
- Manage and enhance internal documentation and the suite of project tools (e.g., Asana, Dropbox, Google Drive, Slack, 1Password, Figma, Bugherd); assist with diagrams, flowcharts, presentations, and visualizations
- Lead work phase kickoffs and project debriefs that deliver analyses on how to improve our internal tools, systems, and processes to increase efficiency and impact
- Assess how security standards, privacy, accessibility, and environmental and social risks may impact projects
- Collaborate with our data, design, and development teams on quality assurance and testing deliverables
- Where needed, and alongside other members of the team, assist in wireframing and/or user testing, managing and/or executing content production, sourcing imagery, and managing content entry
