Job Summary: The RN Supervisor is responsible for the direction and coordination of nursing and patient care services. Refers all serious or unusual problems to the Director of Nursing and as necessary to the Vice President of Nursing. Understands and is committed to promotion and maintenance of the highest level of quality patient care. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. The Shift Supervisor assesses the number and level of nursing service personnel needed to provide quality patient care and adjusts staffing and assignments appropriately; Completes the appropriate shift report before going off duty; Serves on assigned Hospital and outside committees; Facilitates a two-way flow of information between nursing service personnel and nursing administration; Provides input to nursing service personnel evaluations; Supports staff education and attends inservice educational programs yearly; nursing staff in the design and implementation of nursing process; Participates in Performance Improvement activities aimed at evaluation and improvement of quality of patient care; ensures that the overall functioning of the Hospital includes, but is not limited to, practices of safety, infection control, maintenance of adequate supplies, and a positive working relationship with other departments within the facility; Considers the financial performance of the Hospital a high priority and demonstrates such commitment through adherence to budget parameters and through daily operational decisions and actions; formulates annual written goals and objectives for the department and position including planned dates of completion; and interprets, supports, and recommends administrative and nursing service policies and procedures for employees. Applies knowledge and skills of management.

Licensure/Certification
Requirements: Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school required. BSN or MSN preferred. Current and unrestricted NYS Nursing license required. ACLS required. 3 - 5 years experience as a charge nurse and/or in a nursing management role. Good clinical, communication and interpersonal skills required.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $98,000.00 per hour
