Position: Teachers for Title I Summer Success Program ~ 8 positions (K-3)
All Positions Subject to Enrollment
Location: Brookside Elementary School
Work Schedule:After school preparation Meeting, Wednesday, May 8, 2024
Monday - Thursday: July 8-July 11; July 15-July 18; July 22-25
5 hours per day: 7:30 AM-12:30 PM (students 7:45 AM- 12:15 PM)*
*Time and hours could be adjusted depending on the bus schedule
Salary: $50.00 per hour
To Start: July 8, 2024
Qualifications:
●Mass. Department of Education Teacher License:
○certified general education teacher (K-5) or Early Childhood (PreK-3); required
○certified English as a Second Language (PreK- 6), preferred
●Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement, preferred
●Strong reading and literacy background;
●Ability to plan and provide innovative approaches to literacy instruction such as chants, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, reading in the content areas, reading and the arts (poetry and plays), etc.;
●Ability to plan and provide math instruction in alignment to the beginning of the year MA Mathematics Frameworks;
●Knowledge of developmentally appropriate strategies, scaffolds, and instructional practices;
●Experience with progress monitoring assessments, such as running records and phonics;
●Experience/training in teaching students with disabilities and English learners; and
●Knowledge or experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS).
Responsibilities:
●Instruct one block of each: small group guided reading lessons, phonemic awareness/phonics, and Mathematics;
●Incorporate Summer Reading books and activities into instruction;
●Incorporate math and literacy into morning meetings;
●Collaborate with Summer Success staff, coordinators, and district administration in terms of curriculum and instruction;
●Communication with parents;
●Perform standard duties as requested by the Summer Success Coordinator (i.e attendance, materials inventory, duties, etc.)
●Morning and afternoon bus duty; and
●Recess and lunch duty, as scheduled.
