Activity Director

Brookstone of Clemmons Assisted Living and Memory care, a small, locally owned property, now hiring an Activity Director to develop and carry out an activities program that is designed to promote resident participation either in group settings or one on one.

Must be currently certified or in process of becoming certified as an Activity Director in Assisted Living.

This position is responsible for the following:

• You will create and share the monthly activity calendar with residents and family members. Monthly calendar to include the following types of activities: Social, Physical, Intellectual, Spiritual and Creative
• Director will maintain a current friends and family email list to share events and activities that are taking place in the community
• This position is essential with the new move in process to help the resident on day of move in acclimate to their new environment
• Assists the residents in transportation as needed. Expected to drive residents for a weekly outing
• Responsible for maintaining monthly Activity budget and purchasing of items when needed
• Responsible for facility décor upkeep and watering potted plants throughout property

Ideal Candidate:

• Worked in an Assisted Living setting for at least 1 year
• Currently certified as Activity Director in Assisted Living OR enrolled in the course to become certified
• Has worked as an activity director or activity assistant in similar setting
• Is currently certified or in process of becoming certified as an Activity Director in Assisted Living
• Has experience with dementia residents

Applicant Must/Must Have:

• Friendly personality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Work best with a team
• High school diploma or equivalent

As well as one of the following:

• Complete and passed the basic activity course for assisted living activity directors OR projected to have this certification in the next 9 months
• Have a degree in recreation administration or therapeutic recreation OR
• Must be state or nationally certified as a therapeutic recreation specialist OR
• Certified by the national certification council for activity professionals approved by the state
• Proficient computer skills
• Willingness to comply with COVID restrictions/rules including routine testing
