Brown Butter in Brooklyn, NY is looking for one prep/line cook to join our team. We are located on 413 Tompkins Ave. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, a quick learner, organized, able to multitask, able to work alone and reliable
Responsibilities
- Follow recipes and prepare simple dishes
- Prepare breakfast and lunch dishes(egg sandwiches, toast, potatoes...)
- Sanitize and prepare equipment and workstation for cooking
- Weigh and measure ingredients
- Mix, wash, peel, chop, grind, strain, slice meat and vegetables
- Basic cooking functions such as kneading dough, and preparing sauces, omelettes, scrambled eggs
- Label stock and inventory all ingredients
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
- keep station/kitchen clean throughout shift
- Restock kitchen with all necessary items
- Clean work surfaces, griddle, oven, kitchen utensils, other cooking equipment, mop and sweep at end of shift
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate and listen to team members
- Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
- Experience as a Prep Cook a plus
- Food Handler's License preferred
- Availability to work weekends and early mornings
